Ice is the material that the automotive winter test business is based on and consequently we are specialized in how to prepare ice into the shape and form necessary, depending on which kind of surface the tests will be performed on.
Ice, as a living material needs a lot of time and experimenting in order to learn to know it and find out good techniques to do the preparation work with it. After thirtyfive years of experience Icemakers has the special knowledge about ice needed for a professional result.
The winter climate is dominated by high pressures of northern Russia which generates low average temperatures.
Testing in Arjeplog during winter means access to guaranteed good winter conditions between November and April, even if there are short periods of disruptions caused by low pressures from the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
The Arjeplog Area
Since the vast area consists of different landscapes and big differences in altitude, the variation in temperature on the same day can be dramatic depending on exactly where you are. These local variations are well known to Icemakers staff and whether a certain test needs very low temperatures, or higher temperatures during a really cold period we will advice our customers where to be depending on the request.
If access to certain temperatures is crucial to a specific test situation, cold chambers can be provided by us.
