When it comes to testing the capabilities of vehicles in extreme winter conditions, Sweden stands out as a premier destination. With its vast snowy landscapes and sub-zero temperatures, it is home to Icemakers’ meticulously designed winter test tracks. The test track layouts are designed for, and used by, industry leading automotive manufacturers, engineers, and researchers seeking to develop and validate their products in some of the harshest winter environments.
Our vehicle test tracks in Arjeplog, Sweden, provides an unparalleled opportunity to simulate and evaluate the performance of vehicles in extreme winter conditions. From icy roads to heavy snowfall, our test tracks offer a controlled environment where you can test and study your vehicles to identify weaknesses and enhance safety, stability, and maneuverability. By exposing vehicles to a range of challenging scenarios, Icemakers’ vehicle test track facility allows for rigorous testing for most vehicles including cars, buses, trucks, and more, as well as individual components and systems.
In our facility based in Arjeplog, we offer test tracks on both land and lakes designed to evaluate vehicles in frigid conditions, encompassing both icy surfaces and solid ground, employing various materials.
Every winter, we prepare more than 900,000 square meters of lake tracks in our vehicle testing facility. These tracks are custom-made for our customers, providing them with the ideal environment to test various aspects of their vehicles. Instead of artificially creating snow, we rely on the natural lake effect snow, ensuring that our clients can conduct winter performance testing that closely simulates real-world conditions.
Alongside our lake test tracks, we also offer several land-based snow tracks. The advantage of complementing lake tracks with land-based tracks is the ability to commence the winter test season much earlier.
In direct connection to our main facilities at Maskinvägen, we offer two test hills with 15 and 20% inclination respectively.
Test hills are also available at our Pipudden test area, next to our split-µ straight vehicle test track. The hills have a 10, 15, and 20% inclination respectively.
