The future of electric car testing

2022-06-14/in News, Uncategorized/by GOMO SEO

The consumption of electric vehicles is increasing, and electric car testing is becoming more requested every day. Sweden wants to have 2,5 million electric cars by 2030, and the goal of the United States of America is that at least half of the sold vehicles will be electric that same year. Leaders worldwide are aiming toward the same goal, and the car testing industry is ready. As the demand for electric cars increases day by day, electric car testing is more relevant than ever.

Automotive component testing on electric cars

There is not a vast difference in testing cars driven by electricity than cars driven with fossil fuel. However, electric vehicles are relatively new on the market, and the information and experience are low compared to vehicles with internal combustion engines. There are also new components that need to be tested for the car’s safety, durability, and quality.

Durability

Cold conditions affect the durability of all cars, no matter if it is driven by fossil fuel or electricity. However, electric vehicles are more exposed since they rely solely on a battery; which are notoriously affected by low temperatures. Batteries need to undergo rigorous testing to ensure they can both function in the cold and won’t lose too much capacity.

Safety

The testing of safety is of utmost importance for all cars. Other than testing how the brakes and wheels react in extreme conditions,  testing of all electrical components should be performed. For example, how is the battery reacting to different temperatures? You can cover all grounds of automotive component testing at Icemarkers’ facilities to ensure the safety for electric vehicles.

Quality

It is essential for all cars to be tested in all types of weather conditions to ensure they are safe for the road and user, and also follow the laws and regulations in different parts of the world. Testing electrical components is a matter of meeting the highest standards of all customers regardless of whether they are living far up north or by the Equator.
